The Blog

Cat Lou Arts (Cat-Loo) is a creative and personal blog. It is the ever changing and never ending story of an artist trying to make her way through life as honestly, creatively and joyfully as she can.

I believe in being human. I believe in connecting. I believe in expressing and inspiring. I believe in being inspired. And I believe in sharing whatever light I have to offer the world.

By sharing my own creative projects, as well as tit-bits of my everyday life, I hope to inspire readers with what inspires me.

What you’ll find here:

  • Life musings filled with sketches, scribbles and fine art.
  • Creative DIY crafts.
  • Pretty Places and pretty things.

The Author

I’m Cathy Hayward. A 21 yr old creative soul. I am a Wife, an Artist, Blogger and happy Mormon.

I started this blog to share what I love with the world and inspire myself in the process.

Here is a little about who I am and what I value most in life.

I am blessed with the most amazing man. Duncan Hayward. We met in High School and started dating in Grade 11, 4 years ago. In 2016, on the 17th of September we were married for all time and eternity in the Johannesburg Temple. I couldn’t have asked for anyone better to spend the rest of my life with.

I was born in Pretoria, Sunny South Africa on the 24 of March 1995. I grew up in a home full of colorful chaos and lots of love with my parents and baby brother (in spite of the fact that he is now almost 18, he will always be my baby brother).

And now as my husband and I have been married my family has grown and continues to do so.

I belong to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (more commonly known as Mormon), click here or here to know more. I am forever grateful for the knowledge of the fact that we have a loving Father in Heaven and a Saviour that we can look to for hope, love and guidance, no matter the circumstance.

I attended Irene Primary School and Sutherland High School in Centurion and recently acquired my Bachelors Degree in Design, specializing in Interior Design at Inscape Education Group.

I am an artist, a creative and a maker, so my passions are for the most part creatively inclined. I am passionate about beautiful places and pretty things. I love to decorate and make beautiful as well as explore uniquely beautiful places things and people (note* My definition of beauty is “that which is pleasing to the heart”).Β  I am happiest when I spend my time painting, sketching, reading, creating, making and Yoga-ing (no that is probably not a real word).
